Walking IN the Ways

Tools for the journey

We all want to live as disciples of Jesus. Yet, this is a major challenge in the hurley burley of everyday life. It requires motivation and a long-term plan. Our goal is nothing less than Christlikeness, working itself out in the normal. Our destination is secure, we don’t need to earn God’s approval in our Christian life, but we do desire to make the most of our time on earth. This course is looking at the way and practices of Jesus, that the early mystics and generations have walked and marked over the centuries, timeless practices that although culture and lifestyle have shifted and changed, the human heart, relationships and His timeless truth is still the same.

How can we train our hearts, minds, and bodies to hear the invitations of God to love God, love ourselves, and love our neighbour with everything we’ve got? (Mark 12:30-31)

How can our characters become more like Jesus’ character? What will empower us to live like Jesus in the every day, and in the process see the transformation of our neighbourhoods and society around us?

How can I truly grow as a disciple of Jesus, not in tick-box exercises, but making doable steps in my now that see a tangible growth of me as a whole being and how I relate to others around me?

Walking in the Ways is not just a ‘course’ it is about building foundations for the Christian way of life.

During 2022 The Well Sheffield will journey further into the practices, the ways, the habits, the foundations that pave the way for Christlikeness to become our normality. Full of practical wisdom, multiple methods, and relevant application to our real life.

Walking in the Ways is designed for different stages of life and Christian maturity. It is for you if you’ve followed Jesus faithfully for a while yet perhaps you recognise new questions and conflicts, opportunities and paradoxes in your ‘second half of life’ stage. For you, if you’re a recent Christian or you know you’ve got some maturing to do, and you are hungry to put your faith into practice.

Every session will weave in the practices of prayer & scripture alongside discussions, activations and applications.

Teaching and input is every 2 weeks, to allow us time to begin to put ideas into practice. On alternate weeks you are invited to join our Waiting on God free worship/intercession times, Thursdays 7.30pm. Come as an individual or as a whole community group. You may join individual sessions, but we encourage you to engage with the whole experience between January and June! After all, this is all about crafting a lifestyle.
