MONDAY 6 april
MORNING PRAYERS
(Marjorie Allan - leading, Duncan Akehurst - worship)
The first word: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34)
Materials needed at home: Piece of paper and a pen/ colouring pens/pencils, bin
Creative response: On a piece of paper draw 2 hearts. In one spend a few minutes writing down things in your heart and life that you know to be sin. With children you might just want to write the word “sin” in one heart and then ask them what things they have done that week or the day before that would have hurt God’s heart e.g.. being mean to siblings, getting scared and not trusting Jesus, not cleaning up when asked etc..
Then in the second heart get a pen and colour some of it in. This represents the unknown sin. Things that hurt God that we are maybe unaware of.
Prayer leader can then lead people in prayer saying sorry to Jesus, asking for His forgiveness and receiving and thanking Him for His forgiveness. Can go on to lead people in forgiving others if time.
